Border Crossing

Shortly wrapping up the past events:
  • Washington college boys overdose sometimes
  • Seattle is better than Vancouver which is overrated
  • Victoria on Vancouver Island is indeed quite victorian
  • Dutch guys stay close
  • Border crossing from Canada into the US takes its time
  • Parking is more expensive than staying in a hostel
  • Real jukeboxes still exist
  • Seattle Grace Hospital does not exist
Yesterday, two Dutch people - Ben, a friend of Marian and Annie, a friend of Ben - and me took the ferry (boat trip rather than road trip this time - haha...) from southern Vancouver to Victoria on Vancouver Island which is a very beautiful little victorian town and capital of British Columbia at the same time.

When I came back to my hostel room I found that the three Washington college boys who drove up to Vancouver in order to trink have been on a trip as well. Unfortunately not to Vancouver Island but on some seeds or mushrooms or whatever. However, the room smelt like weed, puke and bunny excrements at the same time. Everybody was very sorry for the inconvenience, but hey, what can you do? At least they seem to be fine generally and sweared that they will never do drugs again, at least this year.

This morning I picked up Ben from his hotel and we drove to Seattle. Unfortunately we had to wait about three hours in line at the border until we were asked into the border control building where we got allowance to enter the country. So when we arrived at the Green Turtoise Hostel in Seattle it has already been dark. We ingested our hostel dinner (which was really good), we took some internet time and afterwards went for a little walk through downtown Seattle, ending up in a nice bar, tasting some local beer. That's it so far. Have a happy new year altogether.
